I spent the weekend in Montreal and competed in the first TdB comp of the season held at Allez Up! It was such a great trip and I am really glad I went.  I had heard so much about Allez Up! and this gym lived up to the hype. It was a beautiful facility in every capacity, architecture, layout, climbing space, setting, vibe…
I, quite literally, threw myself at the wall in qualifiers, as anyone who saw my working on problem #34 can attest. This tenacity earned me a spot in finals which I was very psyched about, because I did not want to miss out on any of the amazing setting at this comp. The finals problems did not disappoint! I battled to a 3rd place finish, which is my first “podium” at a TdB! Yay!!
Thank you to everyone at Allez Up! for hosting an excellent comp. The setters and special guest setters did a great job. Every problem was a pleasure not only to climb, but to look at, as well. Thank you to all the volunteers (there were so many), especially the judges, those who helped run finals/iso and everyone who translated. This was the most at ease I had ever felt in an iso/finals and that really allows a climber to focus on the climbing! And thank you again to the Canadian climbing community for making me feel so welcome, it is appreciated more than you know:) It was a blast training at Bloc Shop on Sunday and I’ll see you guys at True North. I can’t wait!
