This dyno comp is being held as part of the Western Mass Rendezvous. $10 gets you in the door at Central Rock Gym Friday night for the screening of Reel Rock 9 and the dyno comp or you can pay $20 for an all-access pass for the whole weekend. WMCC Rendezvous – Farley Ledge, Farley, MA
Cost: $15/$20
Climbing: 10:00am – 5:00pm

This outdoor comp is also part of the Western Mass Rendezvous. There will be bouldering and routes this year. You can pay $15 for climbing and camping or $20 to get the all-access weekend pass. I recommend the all-access pass and taking full advantage of all the awesome activities the WMCC has planned.

Summer Sweat Fest Fall Finale – The Hub, Markham, ON
Cost: $30, $25 for Hub gym members, $5 cash purse ante for Open competitors
Climbing: Open Quals: 2:00pm – 5:00pm, Friendly Format Scramble: 3:00pm – 5:00pm, Finals: 7:00pm
Categories: Open, Citizens

This is it, Toronto! After 4 hotly contested, sweaty comps it’s time to declare a champ at the Fall Finale. Friendly format comp will be the same as the summer events with a 3 hour scramble. Open competitors will have 90 minutes of time within a 4 hour block to qualify for finals (same format as the summer). Top 6 men and women will move on to the World Cup style finals. Should be a fun and exciting time!

I’ll be swinging up to Toronto to complete my Summer Sweat Fest! I am so excited to check out the new Hub climbing gym!! My grandfather (who has never seen a climbing competition) even had some beta for me. He told me to take a couple practice falls off the Dragon to see what that foam pit is like. Solid advice.

Iron Maiden – MetroRock, Newburyport, MA   Results

This comp was a lot of fun with 50 women and girls turning out to compete and cheer each other on. The problems were varied and interesting, although there was a tendency for problems of all styles to end in a “big move.” I would have liked to see more nuance to the finishes. Congratulations to all who participated and to those who made the podium in their division!
