Weekend Preview: Mar 29 – 30

There are some great events going on this weekend. The bad news is that you have to pick just one. The good news is that you can’t make a bad choice, they’re all going to be a blast! We have a multi-discipline comp on an outdoor wall, 2 SCS youth locals, a prom themed bouldering comp, a female-only bouldering comp and Canadian Bouldering Nationals!

This top-rope, bouldering, and dyno comp on an outdoor wall is part of the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Climbing Series (MACCS) and only open to college students (please bring a current student ID and class schedule to registration).

Iron Maiden 1 – MetroRock, Everett, MA
Cost: $45
Climbing: Redpoint: 2:00pm – 5:00pm, Finals: 6:00pm

This will be the first comp in the Iron Maiden Series, a female-only bouldering comp series. In addition to prizes for the youth/citizens and a cash purse for the pros, there will be a vendor village and all pre-registered climbers are entered into a raffle for a $200+ prize pack.

A Comp to Remember – Doylestown Rock Gym, Doylestown, PA
Cost: $40
Climbing: Redpoint: 3:00pm – 7:00pm, Finals: 8:00pm

The theme of this year’s bouldering comp at DRG is PROM!!! So dress up, rent a limo, and buy your spotter a corsage! The comp is open to ages 12 and up. At 7:30pm there will be a slackline comp as well, $10 entry, free if you entered the bouldering comp.

SCS Youth Local Comp – New Jersey Rock Gym, Fairfield, NJ
Cost: $35, $5 fee for non-USAC members
Climbing: 4:00pm – 7:30pm

This SCS comp is open only to youth (19 & under). There will a bake sale fundraiser during the comp.
