Only a few days after I posted about having a great, and rare, night bouldering with some women at a local gym, I saw info about a comp called The Heist posted on Facebook. This is a comp for women, set by women. What a great concept! What’s even better is that there are enough women involved in competitive bouldering that an event open only to women and entirely set by women is not only possible, but viable. I actually love the co-ed, integrated format that most climbing comps use and have no interest in separating the men and women permanently, but I admit that I am excited to have one night to rock the girl-power, come together, and celebrate all that is women in climbing.
