The collegiate season is really picking up here in America with 2 events last weekend and another 2 this weekend. And we are starting the transition between bouldering and roped seasons both in America and Canada.

This is the second competition in the Northeast region of the USA Climbing Collegiate Climbing Series.

Top Out or Tap Out – The Edge, Halfmoon, NY
Cost: $45 ($35 gym members)

This all-top out bouldering comp is open to ages 12 and over. There will be a La Sportiva shoe demo before and during the redpoint round. $500 cash purse for finals and prizes for citizens. The gym has released a preview of the finals problems, check it out here!

This couples climbing contest is for beginners only.  There is one hour of competition climbing and the rest of the time is unlimited open climbing.  There are prizes to be won!  Pre-registration is required.

This is a scramble difficulty comp that will be top-rope for Youth C & D and lead for Jr, Youth A & B.

After much thought (and changing my mind several times), I decided that I will be going to Top Out or Tap Out on Saturday. I’m super psyched to attend this comp and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun, but at the same time I’m pretty disappointed to be missing the Heart Burn. I love the Burn Series, I rarely pass up the chance to go to a Burn and I have been dying to see the new East Falls facility. Good luck to everyone at every comp this weekend, especially all my friends at Heart Burn.  Crush it!
