Most of America will be celebrating Independence Day this weekend with picnics, fireworks, parades and/or 3 day climbing trips, but up in Canada they are celebrating the opening of another new gym! I’ll be getting my firework fix Friday night and then heading over the border.

The much anticipated opening of Bloc Shop in Montreal will be celebrated with a bouldering competition for all!  For the Jr/Rec/Exp categories it will be a 3 hour redpoint and your top 6 climbs (out of 50 climbs to try) will count toward your final score. For Open competitors, it is a 3 hour redpoint qualification with 8 problems scored Bonus/Top. Finals will be 4 on-sight problems.
