Weekend Preview: July 24 – 26

2 great comps are going on this weekend. We (finally!) have the next installment of Summer Sweat Fest going down at Climber’s Rock. And the annual summer comp party that is Sun Burn will be hosted by Philadelphia Rock Gym’s Valley location. I’m psyched to head out to Dog Days at CR to get my climb on. See you there!

This comp will have different formats for each category. Open competitors will have 90 minutes (anytime within 5:00pm – 10:00pm) to work on 5 problems scored on tops & bonuses. Competitors in the friendly comp will have as much of the allotted time as they wish to amass their best 6 climbs in a scramble format.

SunBurn – Philadelphia Rock Gym 2, Valley, PA

This is a wild and crazy comp! Competitors will have 5 different disciplines (Route [during quals it is top rope or lead, your choice], Boulder, Top Out, Dyno, Slab) to choose from and may compete in as many or as few of them as they would like. For the youth and citizens, there will be winners in each discipline, as well as an overall winner (you must compete in all 5 disciplines to be eligible for the overall winner title). For open competitors, you must complete at least 1 problem/route in each category. Finals will consist of 2 boulder problems and 1 lead climb.
