I had a fun, if frustrating, weekend at the Joe Rockhead’s TdB.  It was very low-key for a TdB with far fewer than usual participants in Open.  This was a catch-22, because it meant it was easier to get on the problems and move around, but sometimes it was hard to find people around to watch and sign for you, since this comp was entirely peer-judged.  This led to me not trying a few problems, because there was no one around, and then forgetting to go back and try them later.  I missed finals by 5 points…  So frustrating to miss out to cause I didn’t “climb smart.”  Ah well, lesson learned…  My disappointment was tempered by finding a great lunch spot, a professional art supply store, and a used bookstore that seemed to only have awesome categories that were totally up my alley.  A bit of quirky retail therapy, some much needed sleep, and I am ready for training and redemption:)
