Weekend Preview: January 11 – 12

Our first comps of the New Year and we are not wasting any time getting intense.  A Tour de Bloc stop and ABS Divisionals are this weekend, plus Power Struggle kicks off for the 8th straight year.  Time to get sending!

Tour de Bloc – Climber’s Rock, Burlington, ON
Cost: $45+tax
Climbing: 11:00am-2:00pm Open Quals, 2:00pm – 5:00pm Exp/RecYouth, 5:45pm Open Finals

The next stop is here!  This one is going to be amazing with professional photography & videography, the coveted winner jerseys, a $2000 cash purse for open and a $500 bonus for the open finisher with the best score in finals.  Link to live scoring!

Power Struggle 8 – Prime Climb, Wallingford, CT
Cost: $35
Climbing: 12:00pm – 4:00pm, 6:00pm Finals
Categories: Open, Advanced, Intermediate, Beginner, Masters (40+), Young Guns (11-15), Little Crushers(11 and under)

This comp has it all!  Food, drinks, an exciting finals round for open, cash for top 3 in open, prizes for top 3 in all other divisions, raffles and all the profits benefit Paradox Sports/CT adaptive climbing.

One more step!  The top youth from each region will battle it out at the division level for a spot at Nationals.

I’ll be chalking up at Climber’s Rock on Saturday still bearing a scar/badge of honor from my last encounter with the Walltopia Monster in the boulder lab.  It’s time to even the score!
