I will be down in Philly at Winter Burn this week.  Lots of love for this gym and this series, so it will be nice to go back to Valley!  My caddy will also be back in action as he accompanies me to PRG.  Whew!  I got so tired carrying my own water bottle last comp;-)

I went back to Climber’s Rock this weekend.  It was not my best climbing performance.  I went in having not slept at all the night before and recovering from a shoulder issue the week leading up to the comp.  My body does not do well on no sleep.  As always though, I tried my hardest once I was there.  The vibe was fun at this comp and I really enjoyed the setting.  I particularly enjoyed the cave problems and the slab problems.  Slab problems are too rare at comps and they are always fun to work.  The cave problems were unique and consistent with the rest of the comp.  (Often setters feel the need for all problems to end at the same height, even if they start in a cave, which can add several yards/meters of movement to a problem.  The CR setters did a nice job avoiding this pitfall.)  It was my first redpoint comp at this gym and that was fun.  As for that score I had to settle?  The score is now Walltopia monster 2 – Sue 0.  This time I left most of the skin of my left knee on the wall.  Sigh.  When’s the next comp at CR?  Third time is the charm….
