Ring of Fire – Central Rock Gym, Watertown, MA

I had a blast at DRG’s Mortal Komp on Saturday. I wore a Mario costume:) The problems were fun and varied. I got to climb with a bunch of people who I haven’t seen in quite awhile, so it was nice to reconnect. After giving it my all on a heinous (but fun) slab problem in the redpoint round, my score qualified me fourth for finals! I was psyched to have made it, but was not looking forward to the extra-long problem (just one!) that was finals. I tried really hard, lost feeling in my hands, and still managed to make it far enough on the problem to move up to 2nd! I won a certificate for a new pair of shoes, which will help toward replacing all my stolen gear! And a cute new hat:)
