Weekend Review: Feb 22 – 23

It looks like this weekend was a success!  But sadly there’s not a lot to back that statement up.  Everyone’s a little slow getting results posted, probably because they were all busy watching ABS Nats once the east coast comps were over.  I’ll post them once they are released.  Ok, most of the results are in now.  Look below!!

Weekend Preview: Feb 22 – 23

This weekend a few of our NE climbers will make the trip out to Colorado Springs for ABS Open Nationals, but fear not if you are staying in the area.  There is a live stream for the event as well as lots of opportunities for you to crush a little closer to home.

This weekend is hosting the last 2 TdB events before Eastern Regionals.  Get your climb on, Canada!

comp – Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, PA
Cost: $20
Climbing: 11:00am – 2:00pm and 2:15pm – 5:15pm

This comp is divided into 2 “flights.”  Each flight is limited to 30 climbers.

Feats of Strength 9 – The Cliffs, Valhalla, NY
Cost: $35 pre-registered, $40 day of ($5 discount for members of The Cliffs)
Climbing: 1:00pm – 5:00pm, Finals: 6:30pm

This comp is going to out do itself this year.  Amazing artwork on the T-shirts & posters, custom holds for finals, guest emcee, light show, music, after-party…Make sure you don’t miss it!

This is the 4th annual Meltdown.  Climb hard for cash and prizes!

Cost: $62, 72, 95
Climbing: Feb 22: 9:00am – 12:00pm (Scramble for C, D, Adults), 1:05pm – 3:55pm (Onsight for A, B), 4:45pm – 8:10pm (Onsight for Jr, Open), Feb 23: Finals: 9:35am – 11:20am (Onsight for A, B), 12:05pm – 1:50pm (Onsight for Jr, Open)

This 2 day comp is the bouldering championship for the Quebec Climbing Cup.

So much excitement going on this weekend!  It’s probably a good thing I signed up for ABS Open Nats, because I’m not sure I could pick just one of these comps to attend!  Look for details on the blog about the live feed for Nats.  And as always, you can check the comp schedule page for comps a little farther in the future.
